Monikh

We spoke to Stylist, Monikh Dale about her jewellery stories. Equipped with a disposable camera, she took us on a day in her life.

---

  1. Tell us about yourself
I am a South West London based stylist. I love interiors, Mallorca and big feasts with family and friends.
  2. Why were you excited to partner with Daphine on a collection?
I've been wearing Daphine for years now! Their pieces are so timeless and chic, but have that little something special which makes them stand out. Me, my mum and two sisters combined probably have the entire collection, and wear them daily. These pieces become part of your uniform, and I love that.
  3. What inspired you when designing this collection?
My family. There's been so many iconic jewellery moments within our family so I was excited to take that trip down memory lane.
  4. Impossible to choose, but what is your favourite piece in the collection?
I love the Deol wave rings, I think they just look so cool layered together.
  5. If you could only wear one thing ever again, what would it be and why?
I would wear the Kaur wave bangle as it's so simple but effective. A piece that will blend with your clothing.
  6. What is your first jewellery memory?
I'm Sikh so we grew up wearing a simple bangle called a Kara.
  7. Is there a piece of jewellery that is particularly special to you? If yes, why?
The Charan beaded bangle - it's based on my granddads, so when I wear it I always think of him.
  8. Who are women who inspire you in your life?
My mum, she’s incredible. She single-handedly bought up 4 kids, whilst working. Also my two sisters, they’re so caring and funny. All 3 of us had babies last year and it was a dream to go through the journey together. Us girls (plus my little brother) we’re a real unit, we will always have each others back and I feel so lucky to have them by my side.
  9. How would you describe your style?
Chic with a flare of fun.
  10. When you think of Daphine what comes to mind?
    Timeless, ageless.
  11. What are some of the lessons you have learned over the last year?
Life is quick, take every moment you can to slow it down.

TIPS & TRICKS

Your ring should fit your finger comfortably, snug enough so that it will not fall off but loose enough to slide over your knuckle with some resistance.

For best results measure your finger size at the end of the day and when your fingers are their largest.

Don’t measure when your body temperature is either too cold or too hot. Only measure when fingers are at room temperature.

If you hesitate between two sizes, always go with the larger one.

If you are purchasing a wide band, you will be more comfortable moving up a half size from your measurement.
